"The Art of Refermentation" - of possible interest to DC-area homebrewers

You know more about this than I do, being homebrewers and all. I'm just getting started--the boy and I are picking up supplies to start our first batch of beer this weekend(!! yay!). But "refermentation"--I'm told by the description of the event--is apparently not common, outside of craft-brewing. So, it seemed like an event based around the practice might be of interest here.

Brewmaster Garrett Oliver

Refermentation was a dying art in the world of brewing, until the craft-brewing revolution brought a renewed appreciation of this traditional brewing technique. Oliver, who is also the author of the award-winning book The Brewmaster’s Table: Discovering the Pleasures of Real Beer with Real Food, will explain how refermentation helps maintain freshness and adds complexity to beer and will guide a tasting of some of the finest refermented beers available today. (Must be 21 or older)

Sponsored in part by the BRICKSKELLER, home to the world’s largest selection of beers, and presented with the assistance of Brewers United for Real Potables (BURP).
